2. Scope And Audience
This Privacy Policy applies to the Smoogies Android app, the Smoogies web client where applicable, and related backend services, support, and account administration.
Smoogies is a cozy online pet game for teens and adults. Our current intended audience is 13+.
3. What Personal Data We Process
Account and identity data
- Player ID and player code
- Guest or registered-account status
- Player-chosen first name / display name
- Player name / username
- Email address
- Language preference
Login and security data
- Password, when you create or upgrade to a registered account
- Authentication token used to keep you signed in
- Server-side hashed password and hashed authentication token
Gameplay and profile data
- Pets and pet names
- Pet species, quality, traits, levels, timestamps, and progression data
- Inventory items and home layout data
- In-game balances such as SmoogieDollars
- Onboarding/tutorial progress
- Adventure session progress and related sync data
Activity, support, and audit data
- Shop purchases and transaction history
- Reward and interaction event history
- Pet action history
- Admin/support actions taken on an account
- Feedback/support form text, reply preference, player code, support code, and optional screenshot/image attachments that you choose to send
- Basic device/app context used for support and fraud review, such as app version, language, device class, OS, browser/runtime label, screen size, viewport size, timezone, and user agent string
Local device data
To support offline play and recovery after connection loss, Smoogies stores local app data on your device, including account/session state, player profile state, pet data, inventory data, onboarding progress, queued offline actions, cached maps/config, and local adventure resume data.
4. Data We Do Not Currently Intentionally Collect
Based on the current implementation, Smoogies does not currently intentionally collect your exact location, contacts, microphone or camera data, advertising identifiers, third-party analytics profiles, or device push tokens.
Smoogies does not automatically access your photo library or media gallery. If you choose to attach a screenshot or image to a feedback form, we will process that uploaded file to review your report.
5. How We Collect Your Data
- Directly from you, for example when you enter a display name, email address, player name, or password
- Directly from you when you submit a feedback/support form, including any screenshot or image you choose to attach
- Automatically when you play the game and progress through gameplay systems
- Automatically from app/request context so we can understand the recent environment used on an account and troubleshoot reports
- From your device storage when restoring local progress, offline actions, or cached content
- From support/admin workflows when support actions are taken on an account
6. Why We Use Your Data
- To create and maintain your account
- To authenticate you and protect account security
- To deliver core gameplay features and sync progress
- To support offline-first play and later synchronization
- To operate the in-game economy and inventory systems
- To provide support and troubleshoot player issues
- To investigate abuse, duplication, fraud, and other integrity issues
- To maintain service reliability, logs, and operational security
- To comply with legal obligations
7. Legal Bases Under The GDPR
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and, where relevant in the future, consent.
8. Sharing Of Personal Data
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or third-party cross-site/cross-app tracking based on the current implementation.
We may share personal data with hosting, infrastructure, database, and technical service providers acting on our behalf, with support or administrative personnel who need access to assist users or maintain the service, and with professional advisors or authorities where required by law.
Current hosting/infrastructure provider: TransIP. Moi! operates its own Smoogies server on that hosted infrastructure.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Data stored locally on your device remains there until it is overwritten, the app data is cleared, or the app/browser storage is removed.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. These include hashed passwords on the server, hashed authentication tokens on the server, authenticated API access for protected endpoints, and logging/audit trails for certain actions.
11. Your Rights
If the GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or request portability of your personal data, to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

12. Account Deletion
You can delete your Smoogies account from inside the app by going to Settings > Account > Delete account.
The in-app deletion flow permanently deletes the current player's account and clears local game data from that device after successful completion.
If you only want to remove your email/password login without deleting your pets and progress, you can use Settings > Account > Remove login details instead.
If you cannot access the app and still need help with deletion, contact support@smoogies.com or see the account deletion page.
13. Children
Smoogies is not directed to children under the stated target audience. If you believe a child has provided personal data in a way that should not have happened, contact us at support@smoogies.com.
14. Changes To This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will publish the updated version and change the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we may also provide an in-app notice or other appropriate notification.
